Little Mix - DNA

So far the only winners with longevity of the UK's X Factor have been female. Leona Lewis is still far and away the show's most successful export (although a future reviewee may have already snatched that crown), and Alexandra Burke has had a string of varying-quality, but usually successful singles. So when the show's first group-winner Little Mix released their (proper, let's ignore Cannonball) debut single 'Wings' earlier this year the trend looked set to continue.

I didn't watch the X Factor last year at all. It was the first, and only series where I hadn't watched one episode. I was vaguely aware of some rather derogatory comments about one of the girls looking something like E.T., but that was as far as Little Mix made an impression on me until the release of Wings - I only heard Cannonball for the first time whilst doing the shopping last week.

It should've come as some surprise then that their album consists entirely of "don't let people tell you that you're ugly" 'anthems' and a couple of vague 'bangers', but who am I kidding? This is entirely X Factor fodder.

The next Girls Aloud or Sugababes, these are not.

Just get Wings and DNA and be done with it.
